As a general rule, retail district managers aren't the brightest people. I would suggest going above this DM's head to an operations chief, appear in dispair, and you may even get a $100 gift card for the mess. Or, if you're so inclined, go to a (...) (20 years ago, 1-Jan-05, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.shopping)

Any way I asked the DM that was in the store and asked him if I wanted to buy a few dozen of the sets that I had in my hand would he stop the sale. He replied NO I (...) (...) One of the three WMs that I check near me had these clearance sets as well, in addition they had several of the 2004 Alpha Team sets, including the large base, for about 25 - 30% off.
