Well maybe the "smaller" stores just havn't restocked yet. Or maybe those
stores offer pricing such that their stock does not stay in inventory very
long. I for one have my reasons for having my store and usually when I put
parts in the store it is to sell them fast. So far thats worked for me and
satisfied my needs.
For the buyer my way of doing business can be both good and bad. It is good in
that prices are lower. It is bad in that they don't have much time to think
about what to buy and need to act fast when I make an announcement. That also
means if they are not watching at the moment I make an announcement they might
miss out.

As for sorting I don't think it really matters all that much. For me when I
buy I do a search for the part(s) I am looking for and go with the lowest
price. If there is more than 1 store offer what I want at the same price then
I browse all those stores to see if they have other parts I am interested in.
Then all things being equal (and because I am a seller and don't like hanging
on to inventory for a long time) I will pick the store that has had the item in
inventory the longest in order to try and help them out.

I find it silly and somewhat childish myself although I don't think it would
keep me from shopping there if they had what I wanted.
