Considering parting out 2 4561s —Michael Hopkins
I am considering purchasing two 4561 Railway Expresses.         Re: Considering parting out 2 4561s —Tom Stangl
I now own at least 6 regulators, so I'd have to get one for not much more than $5 to be interested at all. I am currently using them to power Technic creations, though I am starting to gather bits for a train. (...) ***(URL) Visual FAQ home ***(URL) (...)      Not to discourage you or anything, but you might want to know that this is already being done by Dwayne Towell, and I believe he purchased something like 10 sets. See his auctions here: (URL) if you scroll down in this newsgroup, you'll find a (...) (25 years ago, 9-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Re: Considering parting out 2 4561s —Michael Hopkins
(...) Thanks for the info, Troy. Unfortunately, I don't see anyone selling just the windows. Anybody want interested in selling me 50 4x4 windows from 4561? Michae (25 years ago, 9-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

(...) If you're going to be picky, then actually they are transparent THINWALLS. As you say, Troy, train windows are something quite different. Kevin (25 years ago, 10-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Re: Considering parting out 2 4561s —Steve Bliss
(...) Some part-lists call these pieces panels, some call them thinwalls. And some of these 4x1x4 pieces have dimples on the inside for shutters, window panes and doors to click into. Some don't. Which does the 4560/4561 have? Steve (25 years ago, 13-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Re: Considering parting out 2 4561s —Kevin Wilson
(...) Bitten by the nomenclature bug again. I sure wish we could have just *one* list of names. (...) They don't seem to have dimples which would take shutters or window panes, but they do have a dimple in the centre of each vertical edge - not sure (...)           Re: Considering parting out 2 4561s —Steve Bliss
(...) You should be able to put a pane from a 4x3 window across two of those thinwalls. Like on the back of 4-wide truck, or something. I'm not sure LEGO's ever done this or not. Steve (25 years ago, 14-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

(...) Not sure if this is useful where you are, but I just bought a 4560 from www.toycity.dk for UKP44. This is identical to the 4561, but without the wall-wart / regulator / connector. Sounds perfect for what you want. The price compares to UKP100 (...) (25 years ago, 12-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)
