Hi All,
Im considering going into Bricklinking to get some cash and I was wondering,
does it work? Do you actually gain money insted of just paying for the sets
you bought to sell? Is there enough profit to make Bricklinking worth it?
Also, could you share some tips?
Do minifigs sell better parted down or complete?
Are boxes worth selling?
Should you try to sell the set MISB before parting them down?
Etc...
Thanks for the help!

Hi Nathan,
For alot of the smaller Bricklink shops (such as myself) selling is more for fun
than a source of revenue.
There are over 1000 registered sellers on Bricklink and only a handfull actually
do it for a living, or actually make money. If you look through the Bricklink
forums this subject occasionally comes up.
If you actually have access to deeply discounted Lego, than you can probably
make some money. This topic often comes up for new sellers, where do I get Lego
to sell? Some sellers simply purchase from stores when Lego goes on sale to
supplament their shops others will also buy in bulk from shop at home.
I would suggest taking a look through the Bricklink catalog and price guide to
give you an idea of what Lego is selling for.
One piece of advice: Do not take out a loan to start a Bricklink shop, people
have done it and gotten burned when they could not sell enough to pay off the
loan or credit card bills. Buy your brick in cash only.
Dig though Bricklinks online resources and do some math before you jump in so
you dont have any rude surprises or disapointment.
As to your three questions, it all depends on the minifig, box or set.
Good luck,
Daniel
