I think you might do better to part the collection out, if getting good market value is a factor. You said "collecting dust", and if you mean this literally it is not much fun to have to wash lego -- so despite condition otherwise, that could be a (...) Put two candles on the birthday cake! (LEGO, of course). The Guild of Bricksmiths was formed exactly 2 years ago in Dec 1999, sparked by discussions on LUGNET (URL) it's a very appropriate day for a Bricksmith's kit to become the first "MOC" kit (...) (23 years ago, 14-Dec-01, to lugnet.announce, lugnet.general, lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade, lugnet.market.theory) !
