Ok, folks.  I've just opened a new webhosting account at Pair for two
of my other domains.  I'll be absorbing guarded-inn.com into that
account within the next week, two at most.

I had previously planned on moving my free BRICKS auction site over to
that account but after watching the site for the last couple of days
and seeing absolutely no bids placed on any of the items there I can't
really justify spending the time to bring it back up on the new
account.  Not making any money from the time I spent on it isn't a
problem, but spending my time bringing it back up when nobody is
buying there is a little pointless.

For those looking for free places to run their auctions I would
suggest Yahoo!  Both Julie and I have run successful auctions there.
I think we all know, however, that if you're selling and you want to
maximize your final selling price, you need to be looking at eBay.
That's why I've done lately and from the looks of it, that's what all
of BRICKS' former sellers have done as well.

Ah well, it was fun while it lasted.

I'll post word here when I have submitted the request to move the
domain.  From that point on you should expect BRICKS to be
inaccesible.  Other things I do at guarded-inn.com, namely my good
deals site, will stay up, though.

(...) Mike, Even though I did not use this site as a seller and only occasionally looked at it from a buyer's point-of-view, I was impressed by what I saw. This was a well-done site and you had a more than generous policy regarding selling there. (...) (24 years ago, 22-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.auction)

Thanks, Mike, for hosting this site. I cut my teeth on auctioning my stuff on BRICKS so I am sad to see it go. You are a valuable member to the AFOL community! It was fun while it lasted! -John (...) (24 years ago, 22-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.auction)
