(...) Why is this? Let me see if I understand- Buyer pays me for item x and does not want insurance or any other service. I ship out the package and it never arrives. (...) Yes, That is one thing that really bugs me, The seller who says I will not be responsible for items that are lost or damaged. Go ask your local Postal Inspector if that claim is true, It's not. All of John's advice seems very sound to me. I have tried to be cooperative with sellers, but it's true that the onus is on them to show proof of mailing however much they may try to shift that burden onto the buyer with a variety of disclaimers. Frank, Ater many conversations with my local Post Office over the last one and a half years, They have told me over and over: If you pay for an item and do not receive it, You do not have to pay for it. In my last 2 auctions I received at least 5 messages during and after the auctions expressing a sense of relief from bidders saying "I only bid on your item after (...)
