Great idea for a discussion group!

Am I the first?....woooohooo

In a large lot I obtained recently, I found a mega-blocks? winged lion w/ a
removable mane.  I am unfamiliar w/ this item and would love to know it's
value...

Other nonLego parts included 6 2x2 tile plates similar to the scrolls
found in the Majisto sets...2 brown highback chairs and a couple
shields...these parts were conspicuous amng myassorted Castle parts...

Any insight is appreciated...

A lot of AFOL's would say that the following is not something to be proud of,
but it maybe be the truth nonetheless. I'm probably the best bet at telling
you what they are worth.

Let me bore you a bit with some background. The MB castle ("LEGEND") series,
is now discontinued. They were big, bulky, for the most part one piece-pieces
of junk. But inside them, well, there were a few gems, (purists would not
agree here, no matter how much you could debate the virtues of one piece in
context... ). These thing were, brown bricks. Furniture, and a few
nonstandardized weapons, as well as the affore mentioned lion. To the best of
my knowledge, the set that included the griffon, (nearly the same set up as
the lion,) was only availible in Canada, so it's even rarer.

Ok, in the right hands, they are golden for giving a castle set up a real mix
of variety to the scene. It makes it a rich tapestry of texture that would not
normally be possible with just Lego. The sets are nearly mined out at there
lowest prices, and going up on EBAY for about what the gems themselves might
be worth, (who needs yet another mega burp castle piece?) (Not me.. but I'll
take the guts). As these things become rarer, you'll probably wish you had
gotten them when you could have, just like a lot of us wish we had had the
chance to pick up more TYCO when we could have. (Yes, I know, never you
purist, I was talking about us reality checked people).

The lion could go for what Frank Filz said, about $2. The chairs well, that's
anyone's guess, I'd say .3 to .5 each. Depends on who wants them and how badly
they do. If EBAY doesn't have one of this sets up, (which is becoming rarer,)
they could fetch a good price. But then, don't hold your breath... yet.  2 or
3 years from now... that just may be a differant story.

On a side note, the Western theme that they produced had decent horses, (to
me) and bottles, beer(reddish-brown) and wine (green). Chairs of course, all
differant kinds. There were all kinds of accessories.
And with all the MB sets, if you have the time and patience, hats and hair can
be modified to conform to Lego. It's just a question of what you want.
