Greetings,

After a awesome meeting experience in March. I would like to try and
host a meeting here in San Antonio. I'm looking at the first weekends
in June or the later weekends in July. I'm working on getting a room on
or near UTSA. However, I need to know some things from those that might
be interested in attending.

What theme would you like to have? The room I'm trying (keyword:
trying) to get is large enough that we could have EVERY theme. It would
be a very, very large room. About 3 times the space of the lodge.

Would you actually be able to attend?

If you would be able to attend what dates in June/July will work better
for you?

How much is your budget for a typical meeting attendance? Mine for
instance is about $100 for room and about $50 other expenses including
gas. This is so I can find rooms close to the area and see about
getting group discounts. Also, if money is tight for several of you I
need to try and make room arrangements around town.

Would it be OK if I called this a TEXLUG meeting?

If everything goes as planned is it alright with the group to put a ad
in the paper so the public can come and view the event?

This is just pre-planning as soon as I get the OK on the room then,
I'll get all the hotel info. and everything else.

Please let me know either by responding to this post or emailing me
directly with the subject: "SA LEGO meeting".

TTFN,
Chris

(...) Hi Chris, I'm probably the worst person to reply to your post, but I think my thoughts on it may have some merit. I think it's great you are wanting to host a meeting in San Antonio. I love to see someone willing to take on such an event. (...) (...) I'll leave that up to the others to answer, but anything's cool with me. (...) I might, but not sure yet. I'm sure you'll draw interest from the few people in SA, plus the Austin folks, as they're relatively close. (...) I really don't know, (...) (22 years ago, 5-Apr-03, to lugnet.org.us.texlug)

I have approval from IEEE (an on campus organization) to have the event. They will be our on campus sponsors. So expect a small public turn out from a few engineering students. They are interested in having a little MindStorm competition and they (...) Meeting Rundown... Attendance: Pat Mark Chris Location: UTSA - San Antonio Note: Pictures didn't turn out as well as I would have liked. The room was great!
