Hi Todd,
Looking forward to seeing you in April!
BTW, April 16 is my birthday.
Looks like we need to schedule a BayLUG/BayLTC meeting for
Saturday April 26th!
Yes, its about 640 miles from Portland to SF. It takes
about 10 hours in a car with minimal stops, so 16 hours on
a bus is not riduculous. Try Southwest airlines from
Portland to either Oakland or San Jose. Sign up on their
website for the email specials, www.iflyswa.com
In general cross country open-jaw fares, like Bos to
Portland and then SF back to Bos are more expensive than 3
legs booked together.
I found several 3-leg flight fares on expedia.com for less
than $425 on Northwest for all 3. But most leave very early
in the morning.
Southwest flys from Providence to Portland as well, but has
stops. Their round trip fare is about 450, but doesn't
include the SF part.
