Like Matt said, Bison County would probably be a good place. Depending on
interest, we could either reserve a room or just show up (like we did in
April, IIRC? When Tim was here?). I understand that if we have less than 10
people, just showing up would be fine.

Bison County is a really good place to hold the meetings when folks from out of
town are going to be there due to the proximity of The Construction Site- kinda
killing two birds with one stone.

That said, none of the times I've reserved the room at Bison County have I even
said I was reserving it for NELUG- I just tell them that I'm with a non-profit
group and we would like their function room on X day at Y time.  I don't even
think I always tell them I am with a non-profit, either, because until recently
that wasn't strictly true.

At any rate, the point is anyone can reserve that room for any time, it doesn't
have to be a NELUG member or even a person that's done it before (which, I
guess, would be me).  Just call Bison County and ask.  You'll want to be able
to tell them about how many people it is going to be, and to call them back the
morning of the event to confirm.  Get the names of the people you talk to both
times- last time there was a little, umm, "incident" I had to straighten out,
and I didn't have the name of the person I reserved the room with.

I would advise against "just showing up" in almost any case, especially if
you're going to be doing it around lunch or dinner time.  Bison County is a
fairly popular establishment, and scraping together a large table is not always
going to be as easy as it was when we walked in that day when Tim was here
visiting.  You could easily find yourself with sub-optimal seating
arrangements- not to mention that the room allows for more freedom of movement
and display of MOCs without disrupting the rest of the restaurant.

Right.  That's about it.  Have at it.

(...) Right. I think it will not be a NELUG event at all. Perhaps certain NELUG members will assist in holding it, but that doesn't make it a NELUG event of any sort... (which is why this is in .loc.us.ma.bos). (...) Well, I know Chris and I will (...) (24 years ago, 3-Sep-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ma.bos)
