  ChiLUG?

The discussion of a Chicago based LUG has never really come up. I think one of the reasons has been because NILTC took the role of a Chicago Lug and also because MichLUG does a lot with our area too. So, what would everyone (or anyone) think of a (...) (20 years ago, 21-Jan-04, to lugnet.loc.us.il.chi)

  Re: ChiLUG?

(...) Seems like a nice idea to me. Of course, I'm more into Mindstorms, and I live in Indiana. But if there was anything going on that I thought was interesting, I'd drive up for it. (20 years ago, 22-Jan-04, to lugnet.loc.us.il.chi)

(...) only ones in the midwest that uses lugnet) I really like the idea of a non theme-based users group. I did attend the show at cantigny park, which i enjoyed VERY much, but it can be hard to talk technic worm joints and new articulation methods (...)   Re: ChiLUG?

(...) Glad to hear it. Looks like Steve Hassenplug is interested, too. I've contacted Tim and he has told me there are some unaffiliated builders coming to the store, so he can generate interest on that end. Tim proposed we try and meet in late (...)   Re: ChiLUG?

(...) Great idea! (...) I'm going to meet Beth on Sunday, and I'll talk about this with her then. (...) I'm up for it. I think a good location would be Schaumburg - easily accessible via highways, a LEGO store, pretty central to the Chicago suburbs (...) (20 years ago, 23-Jan-04, to lugnet.loc.us.il.chi)

  Re: ChiLUG?

(...) Guess that I would be one of 'those' people, sitting here staring at row after row of empty PAB cups........ With 3 Lego stores within an hours drive you would think Chicago would be a perfect place. (20 years ago, 23-Jan-04, to lugnet.loc.us.il.chi)

  Re: ChiLUG?

I would show up in Schaumburg. (Milwaukee is home.) -Erik (20 years ago, 24-Jan-04, to lugnet.loc.us.il.chi)

  Re: ChiLUG?

(...) Schaumburg would be great so my wife could go up and shop while we had a meeting. I'm not sure how to go about this. Anyone in the Schaumburg area willing to volunteer a meeting place? Any ideas? Felix (URL) (20 years ago, 24-Jan-04, to lugnet.loc.us.il.chi)

  Re: ChiLUG?

Not knowing how to post, I'll have to reply. I am the "While you were out" LEGO homeowner. I did not come forward because I could not remember my LUGNET PASSWORD! I made several attempts to recover it, then gave up. Thank you to my new friends (...) (20 years ago, 6-Feb-04, to lugnet.loc.us.il.chi)

  Re: ChiLUG?

It took a while of scanning the shows but we finally saw the WYWO Lego show. I thought that you did a great job! (and you look so 'normal"....LOL) Anyway, congrats on the show from another, even older, Lego infected family from the Chicago suburbs! (20 years ago, 8-Feb-04, to lugnet.loc.us.il.chi)

  Re: ChiLUG?

(...) I concur. It's just a short jaunt from the pick-a-brick in Woodfield. We can go pick some bricks with our greasy fingers after lunch! Oh wait, I shouldn't have written that where Tim can read it. :-) Eric (20 years ago, 12-Feb-04, to lugnet.loc.us.il.chi)

  Re: ChiLUG? When?

(...) I'd love to make a trip to attend a gathering. For me, it would need to be a weekend, and sometime when I can go over to the LEGO store. (never been to a pick-a-brick) BTW, do they have Technic bricks there? Anyway, maybe sometime next week (...) (20 years ago, 13-Feb-04, to lugnet.loc.us.il.chi)

  Re: ChiLUG? When?

(...) How does Saturday, March 13 sound? We could go to the Woodfield store, and then have dinner at the Cheesecake Factory right there in the mall. The weekend before is the NILTC show at Harper College, plus I have a couple projects due the (...) (20 years ago, 23-Feb-04, to lugnet.loc.us.il.chi)
