A glorious day has arrived for the State with the introduction of the latest Strategic Light Interceptor and Combat Escort ship in to active service. The Cosmos Directorate is proud to announce the upgrade to the SLICE series, the SuperSLICE. Almost three years to the date after the introduction of the original SLICE, this new fighter bares a striking resemblance to the original but at twice the size.

For attention.
We found company ready to EXPLODE!!
Put CGDC on your radar's now. This shows a significant up in
price and sometimes in days, not months or years.
Watch CGDC like a hawk Monday!! The alert is on!!

CHINA GOLD CORP
Sym: CGDC
Current Price: 0.30

A Company engaged in gold and minerals exploration and development of
gold and mineral properties in China.

Why consider CHINA GOLD CORP (CGDC)? Seee n0wadays what happened.

Rising gold prices are further accelerating this gold rush - The
price of gold has up 250% over the past five years, and this is still only
a quarter of when the price peaked 25 years ago. (Adjusted for
inflation.)

HUGE gold discovery in southwestern China - Resources have already
been estimated by analysts at 14 million ounces...and the number keeps
climbing.

China is the worlds last great under-explored land-mass - Locked
away in a Marxist time-warp with limited exploration technology, China
rich virgin gold fields have been overlooked and ignored until recently.

China is already the world 4th largest producer of gold ?and will
soon be the world #1 producer AND #1 consumer. The country is going
gold-crazy!

Foreign gold companies are now welcome - and the laws have been
changed to provide full legal protection.

You can see China developing gold boom is building momentum. Rare
0pp0rtunity for early investors!!

For the past 4 years the North Georgia LEGO Train Club (NGLTC) has sponsored a display at the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s Festival of Trees. This is an event that consists of hundreds of decorated Christmas trees, wreaths, events, rides and various other displays. To help make our tree special each year we have incorporated the help of the patients of CHOA to actually build the LEGO ornaments that are displayed on our tree.

This year is our 5th year of being a part of the Festival of Trees and I wanted to make it stand out from all of our previous displays. So in order to “step it up a notch” not only are the ornaments made out of LEGO but the entire tree is made from LEGO elements. The tree stands just under 9’ tall with a base of 6’ wide, there are approximately 23,000 green bricks and plates that make up the actual tree. The tree is built around a steel frame so that it can stand strong and hold the weight of the heavy branches. The branches can be removed for transporting the tree. Very little glue is involved, only on the trunk of the branches themselves, all the needles are unglued.

Along with the LEGO tree we have four table top trees, these are 4’ tall artificial trees each decorated with ornaments made by different children’s groups. CHOA patients, 3rd grade elementary school class, Girl Scout / Browne troop & 1st – 5th grade Sunday school class each helped contribute to the table top trees as well as the main tree.

You can see some pictures of our display from yesterday’s setup.

The North Georgia LEGO Train Club (NGLTC) visited the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston. For the fifth year in a row the NGLTC held our annual Christmas ornament building session with patients of CHOA. The children are helping make ornaments for the display being put on by the NGLTC at the CHOA’s Festival of Trees. The tree display will include trees decorated with ornaments made by the patients as well as many other local children. These trees are then auctioned off to help raise money for the CHOA system.

The building session was a big success this year we had over 25 patients come and help put together ornaments of all shapes and sizes. Not only do the patients enjoy building with the LEGO but the entire family is encouraged to contribute. This is a nice way to break up the day for children who have to spend time at Egleston children’s hospital. It gives them a time to be kids and not have to think about all the treatments and test they are undergoing.

The kids are a great help every year in contributing ornaments to the NGLTC tree. We do make sure that no one goes home empty handed so each patient that helped was given their choice of LEGO sets to take back to their room and continue the LEGO building.

DixieLUG, NGLTC, and others will be displaying at the FIRST LEGO League National Championship Event this Saturday at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA.

We will be set up in the lobby/foyer area of the event from about 7am until about 3pm. The event is open to the public but I’m unsure if there is any admission fee.

A little birdie also told me that this event is also attracting such people as Soren Torp Larsen and Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen himself!

This past weekend (April 9,10) the North Georgia LEGO Train Club (NGLTC) presented a layout at the Atlanta Greenberg Toy & Train show.

Our layout was a 20’x25’ layout including a kids play area and Rail Racers set up.

This was one our most animated layouts to date, not only did we have the running trains and monorail there were lots of little goodies on the layout. We had all of Mark Staffa’s great fair ground items that amazed the crowds as always,

plus a copy of Jason Allemann motorized cows (that were a variation of Erik Amzallag’s cows)

and our ever hard working landscaper, but he never got more grass cut than the single circle

There were also all the great MOC buildings and other structures:

We did have a couple of vandals “mark” one of our buildings but the local police will had to take care of them (must be some kind of code word or something)

For all the pictures from the show you can see them in my Brickshelf gallery

For those of you who didn't know the Dawsonville Georgia LEGO Outlet store is
being closed (this is the first US LEGO Outlet opened in Oct. 1999). I guess
this is another sign of the tough times for LEGO retail. I know many folks have
never understood why Atlanta had two LEGO Outlet stores to begin with.

Everything that is left in the store is 50% off. There isn't a ton of stuff left
but there are a few good deals to be had. Next week whatever is left will be
marked down to 75% off.  January 22nd is their last day;I'm not sure how we are
going to survive in the Atlanta area with only one LEGO Outlet store...much less
one so far from my house.

Needless to say there will not be a NGLTC show on Memorial day at the
Dawsonville LEGO outlet, bummer :( The store and the employees will be missed. I
have heard that a few of the employees (Kenny) will be moving to the Discover
Mills store.

I've seen some photos of AFOL's that travel with exhibit peices and they use
large wooden crates for transport...so it seems to me that if someone wanted
these to use, might be a good deal! Contact me off post if you're interested!

The crates are currently located in Tallahassee Florida. I can't move them at

Thanks and hope someone can make use of them!

Once again the North Georgia LEGO Train club (NGLTC) will have a summer “club
house” at the Discover Mills Outlet Mall in Gwinnett county Georgia. Like last
year we will be occupying an empty store in the mall and filling it with our
LEGO train layout. We are happy to find out that the mall has offered us a
location next door to the LEGO Outlet store in the mall.

The NGLTC will move into the “club house” in the begging of June and will hold
at least three open houses during the summer for the public to be allowed to
come in and view the layout, run the Rail Racers and play in the kids play area.

Last year we really enjoyed our space in the mall and are looking forward to
having it once again. If you are in the area this summer please stop by and
check us out.

We (BayLUG/BayLTC) have talked to malls in our area and run into a brick wall
when they say we need to have $1,000,000 in liability insurance.  Since we're
not incorporated or anything, there's no entity to buy such insurance.  We've
looked into various kinds of non-profit statuses but have failed to find a
solution that is appropriate to our club and doesn't cost tons of $$$ to set up.

What kind of organization does your club have?  Or is the LEGO store providing
an umbrella for you?  What about other clubs that have done similar things?
