G'day Tim,

Unless anyone claims to be nearer, I might be the next closest AFOL - I live
south of Yarm, which is about an hour north of you.

The best selection will be the Toymaster shop in Kings Square, but it is not
a cheap shop! There is at least one TRU in York. Also, there is a factory
outlet place on the ringroad to the south of York with a discount toyshop
in, so check that one out too.

HTH,

Phil in Yorkshire.

Welcome to the group :-) Sorry, I didn't spot you while I was in Oz ;-)

I don't know of any guys in York itself, but there are a few around North
Yorkshire...

I only recall there being one toy shop in York city centre, and it's part of
a chain (Toy Master I think) - you're unlikely to find discounts. However,
Yell (http://search.yell.com/search/DoSearch) retunrs 12 "TOY & GAME SHOPS"
in and around York.

Oh well, you'll just have to come along to a 'fest or two while you're here
:-) First one is on Saturday 6 April at my place - about 250 miles from you.
That's about 400Ks, but you'll have to get used to miles now ;-)

On Sunday 7 April, a bunch of us are off to LEGOLAND Windsor for their
Professional Model Making session (£69 per person) - room for stop-overs at
my place from the day before.

Just LMK if you'd like to tag along to either or both :-)

Hi everyone

I'm just writing a very quick post to introduce myself and ask a couple
of questions.

My name's Tim Gould (which if any of you have hung around .loc.au you
may have seen) and I've just taken up a post-doctoral research position
at the Uni of York so I have to shift from .loc.au to .loc.uk

Unfortunately all of my Lego is still in Aus so I'm very lacking in
the crucial aspect of lugnet.

Does anyone here live in the York area? If so could you please tell me
where is good to buy Lego.

Well that's done. If you guys have a roll-call form I'll be happy to
fill it in but otherwise here is a quick rundown of me.

Gender M
Age 24
Location: York
Favourite themes: Star Wars and Castle
Size of collection: not enough in Aus, none in England

Well happy new year all

Tim
