    Bromley Beatties gone... —Jon D. Hayward
   ...and replaced by Model Zone Bromley had two shop-fronts - one toys and one models. The model one will be a fully fledged Model Zone, but it looks like the toy one will close.      is Model Zone a different outfit or have Khontams (Beatties parent company-if thats how you spell it) rebranded the shop in an attemt to make another go of it?      RiKo (Richard Khonstam (sp?) )??? IFAIK it's a completely different outfit. Stock type is completely different - diecasts and model kits only, no general toys.      I've never really thought of a link between Riko and Khonstam as far as the name but yes they are the same company and it does kinda make sense. Our Cardiff store fought long and hard to re-establish itself as just a model kit and die cast store, (...) (23 years ago, 4-Jun-01, to lugnet.loc.uk)

   (...) be (...) but (...) Model Zone bought up three branches of Beatties. Dunno which. That would suggest that only 7 Beatties branches remain... The toy section of the Bromley branch will be closed down BTW. Just Jono .oO (23 years ago, 5-Jun-01, to lugnet.loc.uk)
