Best Lock is the updated version of Mego Lock. I posted to RTL some time
back when reports came about of "this new compatible Best Lock system". Mego
Lock has (had) the same dimensions as Best Lock (i.e. shorter than LEGO
height bricks), but the studs were slightly too large to be compatible. The
name change to Best Lock came about when they amended the studs to (just
about) fit with "other leading brands..." In fact, if you find one of the
first Best Lock sets adapted from their previous Mego Lock cousins, they
just have a new label applied over the old name on the box 8-)

There were three themes "City Life" very similar logo to City Centre, but the sets were reminiscent of late 80's (...) (25 years ago, 24-Apr-00, to lugnet.loc.uk)
