Further to this, how can we establish the 'virgin parts' box? I could
send it on as it is, with fewer parts, and people add their fair share
to it as it goes along.

How are parts rattling about in a box affected by the gentle hands of our
postal service? Would such a box need individual piece wrapping or
somesuch?

Do LEGO sets enjoy this protection?

No - therefore several zip-lock bags separating out large and small pieces
would be my suggestion.

New parts rattling loose in a box is to be avoided, I have to agree.

(...) I was aware of this potential problem. The bits I have are already in ziplock bags ready to go. If each person takes reasonable care to ensure they can't rattle about too much, all should be fine. Ian Bishop, Ayrshire, UK (25 years ago, 30-Mar-00, to lugnet.loc.uk)
