Since no one was paying any attention I did stack a few plates, though I didn't
have time to stack as many as I would have liked. To be honest, I didn't really
realize the rule was there... guess I don't read very well. ;)

Mine eyes deceived me. :)
As noted, it was a very quick visual comparison that I did, as the store was
closing fairly soon and I wanted to get some pieces before they tossed me out.
Perhaps the additional volume also comes from the fact that the larger bag would
tend to get wider as you packed it and therefore the difference isn't just is
height and width.
But thanks for doing this test John. Next time I'll give a go at a large one.

I agree. I was glad I only grabbed two of the 1x6 black Technic bricks that
were there. Since when I got home I realized those are the Technic brick of
which I already have the most anyway.
The black jumper plates were great (for me at least) since in that part, in that
color, I was still in need of more.
