(...) Actually, there is a small savings to be had. You are correct in saying that they charge all applicable taxes. However.... remember that on imported goods valued at more than $20 you are charged a $5 fee in order to collect the taxes, on those (...) (20 years ago, 18-Jun-04, to lugnet.loc.ca)

(...) Not to nitpick, but that's a red herring. S@H already charges Canadian customers for all applicable Canadian taxes, which are the only fees that would be assessed at the border by Canada Customs. This was already in place before the change to (...) (20 years ago, 18-Jun-04, to lugnet.loc.ca)

(...) Uh yes you do. S@H applies the taxes right on your invoice (PST+GST or HST as appropriate). You can't escape that. If S@H didn't charge taxes at the origin then Canada Customs would charge it at the border, plus add a $5 service fee. The (...) (20 years ago, 18-Jun-04, to lugnet.loc.ca)
