I'm guessing these prices are per head?

Maybe this brings us back to where Peter and I seem to be, which is that his
or my place might be sensible, in terms of space, parking, facilities etc.

re http://www.lugnet.com/loc/au/nsw/syd/?n=315 (and replies)

Peter and I are content to take it turn and turn about, and anyone who wants
to put their hand up can have a turn too ;-) Turnwise that would make the
next one here, but here is near Mittagong and I'm wide open to people
telling me its just too far to come.  Peter has already said he's happy to
host again if my place is too far.

Brace yourselves, my guess at the cost was off by heaps.

There are meeting rooms inside Parramatta Town Hall with tables/chairs • that are
for 20/30 people size, the rates are $13 during the week and $17 weekends.
Parramatta Town Hall is not ideal anyhow, as its difficult to park near, • and
unloading could be a problem too. There are other meeting rooms about and • I'll
go pick up a list later today.

There are also Halls available to use but these are way more expensive • still.
During the week - $18 and weekends - $33.

Baulkham Hills council may be cheaper, or their website is just very old.

Hey fellow Studer'er's

No set venue was decided upon for the next meeting (in fact was a date
decidededed upon?)

Either way, I think that we somehow determined that Parramatta seemed • to
be a
central sort of area for people to go. Perhaps I was just dreaming this • too.

Either way, I live near Parramatta, and can go looking for any • community
centres/halls that we may be able to hire.

Looking on the internet last night, Parramatta council didn't have a • list
of
venues, but nearby Baulkham hills council did. Generally most small • venues
have capacity for about 100 people (its the space we're after, not the
capacity). And I think the cost for hire will be approx $5 per hour, • though i
can't confirm this will be true for all places.

Some places also have tables and chairs available to use too. This • should
make
displaying things, and Brickwars a little bit easier.

I'll do some phoning about to find out more details tomorrow, but is • this
where we want to be heading? Or is there somewhere else we can use?

(...) The prices were per hour regardless of the number of people (as long as the venue's capacity isn't exceeded). So I'd guess that it's in our interest to get more people along to reduce the costs, confirmed attendances anyhow. Lets play (...) (24 years ago, 6-Jul-00, to lugnet.loc.au.nsw.syd, lugnet.org.au)
