How about "two-door Commodore" or "the world's most boring-looking sports
car".

Boring looking is good. Draws less attention from the polezei that way. Not
trying to attract dates, just want to go fast. (and listen to CDs with the
AC on, need to have those creature comforts)

GoogleNews search for Monaro. From the NYT article:

"MOST visitors to Australia go home with a stuffed koala, a bottle of wine
and maybe a deep winter tan from Bondi Beach.
When the General Motors Corporation's vice chairman, Robert A. Lutz, made a
three-and-a-half-day visit in February, he returned with a new
300-horsepower-plus sports coupe that will be the base for a reincarnated
classic, the GTO, which Mr. Lutz hopes will reinvigorate the Pontiac brand.
...
By the time Mr. Lutz's jet touched the ground in Detroit, he was committed
to reworking the high-performance Monaro, which offers a 305-horsepower 5.7L
V-8 and a six-speed manual transmission, into a new Pontiac GTO. G.M. will
import about 18,000 Pontiac GTO's annually. (The Monaro will continue to be
sold in Australia.)"

It's not a ute, but then you can't have everything.
