Shows as available to Australia, for AU$890 8?)

Hmm, I have no idea as to the regular admission priced at Legoland Germany, but
I paid A$51 to go to Legoland Windsor last year. So, that price would cover
17.5 separate admissions.

As much as I enjoyed going to Legoland Windsor for the day, I could not imagine
an adult wanting to go on a regular basis, as most of the rides and activities
are aimed at young children. However, the Lego models etc that interested me
probably don't change all that quickly, so it's the kind of place that I could
imagine going back to in a few years to see what had changed, but probably not
more frequently than that.

10% discount is nice, but you would have to buy a lot of stuff to justify the
cost, and you probably have to compare it as a strategy against just waiting
for a sale price of at least 10% to come around. And, of course, it is not just
a question of whether it would pay for itself in the long term, but whether you
would pay out that money in full TODAY.

Aussies, I am curious. If there was a Legoland built near your town, would you
pay $890 for a lifetime pass? If there was a Legoland somewhere in Australia
but not near your town, would you pay $890 for a lifetime pass?

My feeling is that I *might* do it if it was within 1-2 hours drive on the
basis that one would probably go more often than one's natural inclinations,
e.g. to celebrate children's birthdays, take interstate visitors and so forth
(when the discounted extra tickets would be useful). However, if it was further
afield (e.g. Sydney), I don't think it would be worthwhile for me.

I have no idea if there are any plans for an Australian Legoland. But if there
were, I guess they would look to the Gold Coast as a venue, since it seems to
be the only place in the country that can financially sustain theme parks due
to the constant churn of domestic and interstate visitors.

(...) further (...) Argh, I just discovered the discounted extra tickets are a measly 2 Euro discount. I had just assumed they would much more significantly discounted (e.g. half price). I'm starting to think I wouldn't bother with a lifetime pass (...) (22 years ago, 27-Feb-02, to lugnet.loc.au)
