Evening all,

Saw the Alpha team and Racers yesterday at Moore Park TRU, bought the Bomb
Squad (http://shop.lego.com/ProductInfo.asp?product_number=6775 ~$54) and a
few of the racers ($4.39 ea).

The racers aren't bad fun for the price.  My boys and I have been having a
fine time.  Not really a building toy thingie, but fun anyway.

The Alpha team stuff is pretty cool.  Rather liked the look of most of the
models.  Bought the bomb squad chiefly for the parts (wheels, click hinge
vehicle supports, shock absorber bits, and of course two - count them - two
sprung slug throwers).  Cool figs (painted legs too).  Definitely an edge
about these models.  Kind of ResQ but tear off you head and peer into your
neck.  I didn't see the biggest model (Ogel's Base), but I did see in the
comic some skull faced henchmen type dudes - I guess you get two of these
guys in the that set - they look fantastic :-)

Not bad at all.  I haven't been this impressed since I saw the first release
of adventurers a few years ago.

There really is nothing like the sense of wonderment found in walking into a
toy shop and discovering new and worthy Lego.

Richard
Still baldly going...

(...) Yep, Alpha team looks good...pity that when I went into myers in Melbourne thursday, they had none of it, and weren't expecting another delivery for a week or so. Yet Geelong had the 6772. [on a side note...according to their computers, (...) (23 years ago, 14-Apr-01, to lugnet.loc.au)

(...) My 3yo found the crash test dummy action of the son of the purple blob very amusing. I took it along on Saturday and people were amazed at the size of the racer in relation to the box. (...) The sprung slug throwers keep popping up in (...) (23 years ago, 15-Apr-01, to lugnet.loc.au)
