Hi Dave

The 6829 discount is amazing, especially for space fans. What themes do you
go for?
well, seen in warringa mall, brookvale...
As I am just starting up (again), I'm floating on the themes a bit.
First thing I got myself was the tow truck - A$99 at Toy'rRUs,
Chatswood - and looking forward to increasing the quality of the
steering in that. So, I guess cars are one theme.

Another one is the robots - of course - e.g. an explorer of some kind
or combining it with a cam / vision detection or something. Presently
I am still contemplating to wait until RCX 2.0 comes out (Spring??) or
get a 1.5. I found some ref to that on the mindstorms site but calling
Lego Aus ("we know nothing of it") and mailing Lego support (dito)
gave me no insight into the waiting periods. Dunno if I wanna wait...

Yep, read your report on the powerhouse. Actually I have been there
already (mid Dec) and saw the Lego Action show. But while there, I
read something about an additional Robotics show coming up 2. Jan (?).
They did seem to be setting something new up downstairs, maybe an
expansion of the Universal mashine.

Are you interested in coming to the next local meeting (guessing you're
in/near Sydney)? It looks to be pretty big, with (eek!) interstate visitors.

I am actually living in Dee Why, so coming to a meeting would
certainly be an option. How big is big? Where would I get details -
other than following the group.

Are any of you guys doing robotics stuff outside of Lego?
