Look at the facts.

I love looking at facts!  Can't get enough of them.

The NZ rate was initially set at 10%. Not long after the GST was introduced
it was raised to 12.5%.  (And the NZ system, being one without the third
tier of government, and without the exemptions we have allowed, was a
simpler transition, and a simpler set of calculations for the government of
the day to make.)

Australian Sales Tax rates moved about - but they never fell, but they only
rose.

Tax Reform - Bend over Australia, here it comes again!

To speak to the subject, yes probably.  But not much, and I doubt we'll
actually notice it.  I doubt Lego buying patterns will change, and I doubt
it will herald a brave new era for anyone but lawyers, accountants, and
software vendors.  Personally, this is not such a bad thing - I work for a
law firm........
