Is there an updated version to get hold of?
I think everyone is just cleaning out their storerooms, probably in
readiness for the GST. Kmart here recently put out a stack of crisp
new Lego competition forms that I'd never seen before (I think it was
buy a set and go in the draw for a trip to Legoland or something similar).
Pity the competition had closed several months before. Several places
are again selling last year's catalog, even though they'd apparently run
out well before the end of last year.
Now what I'd really like to see is some actual pre-GST stock clearance
markdowns, several stores made big noises about selling out things cheap
rather than doing the tax changeover but haven't followed through (at least
not with Lego). The only place with any sort of Lego clearance has been
Harris Scarfe, marking down a whole $5 on average (woo-hoo) of their
older sets that have been collecting dust for years. Apparently it's
working though, they seem to be selling quite well.
Anyone come across some genuine good-value GST related Lego sales?
