It's not bad, so much as small. There are some interesting bits, including • a
Sydney Opera House at semi minifig scale (which is well within the scope • of many
AFOLs (Kerry?)), and a section of the Great Wall at a similar scale.

Not surprisingly, it sounds like the show we had in Brisbane at Carindale
just before Christmas ...

Hogwarts Castle ~$100, Republic Gunship ~$100, Jedi Starfighter ~$20

... in which case try checking it in the last few days of the show as the
prices on Hogwarts and the Gunship dropped to $50.

Actually I was looking at the Sydney Opera House and wondering ... alas my
digital camera was dead at that time so I didn't get any pics. However, my
camera has now been replaced and I am expecting to be baby-sitting in sunny
Sydney on the Australia Day weekend so what finer thing could I do with my
nephew than take him to the Lego show :-)

Aside, on the camera. It was a Canon Powershot A40 that just mysteriously
died about 1 month out of warranty, on day 1 of my trip to the USA in
October (Murphy's Law). Canon initially said it needed the power backplane
thingie replaced and quoted me $170, which was cheaper than buying a new
camera so I said yeah, do it. Then after weeks of waiting for them to
replace the thingie, it still didn't work and it was declared unrepairable,
so they replaced the whole camera for the quoted $170. So, I have mixed
feelings about Canon now. On the one hand, I am pleased I have a new camera
with a full 12 month warranty for $170, but on the other hand, pretty
annoyed that a $700 camera died for no apparent reason 13 months after
purchase. Since I have previously waxed lyrical about the A40 as being very
good value-for-money digital camera, I think I need to temper my past
enthusiasm with this story of how it died.

  LEGO Creator Show in Sydney

G'day I visited the (URL) Lego creator show at DJ's> yesterday. You may remember (URL) some disappointment> relating to the 'World Show' at Castle Hill in 2002. Unfortunately, the current Creator Show does not live up to the standard set in 2002. (...) (20 years ago, 9-Jan-04, to lugnet.loc.au, FTX)
