Gday
Its now been three years since my delurk on LUGNET... remember the naive
young AFOL I was back then? Less than
25,000 pieces...
In honour of the occasion, I have prepared some updated stats (which I first
posted here) to include my full year of
aquisitions for 2003.
For the new sets I purchased:
Year
| | cpp (total)
| | cpp (sets)
|
| 1997
| | 22.0
| | 23.1
|
| 1998
| | 16.9
| | 21.7
|
| 1999
| | 20.3
| | 70.45 (hopelessly distorted by a 15.99 baseplate!)
|
| 2000
| | 14.7
| | 18.7
|
| 2001
| | 10.5
| | 30.5 (distorted by some 4.5V wires from S@H!)
|
| 2002
| | 14.5
| | 17.4
|
| 2003
| | 12.4
| | 15.7
|
The first cpp figure (total) is for the total amount spent on new cents,
divided by the number of pieces. The second (sets) is for the average cpp for
all sets purchased for the year (ie do the cpp calculation for each set, then
average those cpp numbers).
There is a blip in 1999 (Star Wars sets, some at the original ott prices),
and a dip in 2001 (blue tubs!), but the trend is for lower prices on a cpp
basis.
Also, Christmas 2003 marked my one thousandth minifig. A cause for much
celebration (and some reflection). It was Johnny Thunder from the Dragon
Fortress.
Cheers
