Hey Mark,
The plans for doing the Miami Beach area have been cut. There was going to be a
section with some water features and such, but as Ray Silva said, it was
originally going to be in the harbour area.
So, it was cut due to time constraints, space constraints, and every other
imaginable constraint you could think of! So the new Florida cluster isn't so
much a Miniland cluster in the traditional sense, as it is just two iconic
landmarks. The original plan was much more encompassing and more in the sense of
Miniland.
But, having said that... Overall I think the new area looks great, and the crew
at Legoland did an excellent job! It was really cool to see something new in
Miniland! I really loved all the pink flamingos all over the place (but where
are the aligators?)
As for what Ray mentioned about the next Miniland cluster, when I was there,
there was serious talk about doing Las Vegas. But during the opening event for
Florida, John Jakobsen (GM of Legoland), Said that they would love to hear ideas
from the park guests for what they would like to see as the next Miniland
cluster!
My vote would be Seattle! Imagine.... The Space Needle, Monorail, Experience
Music Project, Farmers Market, ect, ect........
Just a thought, but let Legoland know what YOU would like to see, and maybe it
just might be next!
