Check out the pics I posted (the folder has been moderated the last time I
looked) of the Grand Opening ceremonies of LEGOLAND California’s newest addition
to mininland, Miniland Florida
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=87371.  The Grand opening
ceremonies included a speech from astronaut Dr. Sally K. Ride, the first
American woman in space http://www.jsc.nasa.gov/Bios/htmlbios/ride-sk.html .
She served as a mission specialist on STS-7, which launched from Kennedy Space
Center, Florida, on June 18, 1983, and as a mission specialist on STS 41-G,
which launched from Kennedy Space Center, Florida, on October 5, 1984.

Miniland Florida has two sections, the John F. Kennedy Space Center and the
Daytona Speedway, both of which you will find pictures of at the above link.

Hope you like the pics!

(...) Awesome pics, thanks. The original plan also called for a Miami Beach section. Has this been canceled or just put on hold? (20 years ago, 20-Jun-04, to lugnet.legoland.california)

(...) That Octan semi-truck on the right should really be sold as a kit. That looks great ! (URL) (20 years ago, 20-Jun-04, to lugnet.legoland.california)
