Lawrence,

I stayed at the Residence Inn in Carlsbad in April of 2001.  I was with my
family, including 2 boys ages 7 and 9, and I was pretty happy with this
location.  The hotel is only a few years old, all the rooms are suites and
have kitchens, and there is a great breakfast buffet in the lobby in the
mornings. It's about a mile from Legoland.

Here's a link to info about the hotel:

Regards,

Andy Evans

Any hotel recommendations for San Diego and Carlsbad or surrounding
area.

Currently looking at a condo at the Carlsbad Inn for part of the stay.

Anyone first hand experience of this or others?

Preferences:
3star plus
Beach or marina
Balance of quality and cost.
Family of 4 so suite or oversized rooms

Thanks

Lawrence
