Re: Get a glimpse of Legoland Missouri plan

Apparently the links required a cookie to work.   Re: Get a glimpse of Legoland Missouri plan

(...) Disclaimer: I lived in the Kansas City, Missouri, area for a few years. It's a great town, lots of golf courses, the best BBQ in the known universe (in my opinion!), and some crazy fanatical baseball and football fans. I really enjoyed living (...)   Re: Get a glimpse of Legoland Missouri plan

(...) So, what is your take on the project? Is this a cross between a LEGO Imagination center and a LEGOLAND Park? From the looks of the one working link you have, the image of the flyer, the graphic is of the park only. Where would the shopping be (...) (17 years ago, 8-Feb-07, to lugnet.legoland, FTX)

Get a glimpse of Legoland Missouri plan

RED Development, city and state officials held an open house today to present the LEGOLAND project and answer questions. I had the chance to drop by the presentation on the way home from work today. I did not have time to stay for the presentation, (...) (17 years ago, 8-Feb-07, to lugnet.legoland, lugnet.loc.us.mo, lugnet.loc.us.ks, lugnet.announce, lugnet.mediawatch, FTX)

Re: Newswatch: Fifth Legoland Park in Kansas City area in 2009

Yet another article discussing Legoland KC today. "One day after Olathe officials rejected a proposed deal to build Legoland and other attractions in the north part of the city, both the city and developers said they were willing to continue (...)   Re: Newswatch: Fifth Legoland Park in Kansas City area in 2009

(...) Everything the City Council is asking for seems quite reasonable. If Legoland can't make it work, then maybe it just wasn't meant to be there. (18 years ago, 17-Aug-06, to lugnet.loc.us.ks, lugnet.loc.us.mo, lugnet.mediawatch, lugnet.legoland)

What about the other amusement parks in the kansas city area? both past and present? Like Jeepers, Fairyland, and Worlds Of Fun.? Why does anyone think having Legoland on the door would make it work? City council results: NO, but fix the plan and come back. I agree with you, but as long as Legoland is not owned by Lego, it is an amusement park like any other, and developers are going to use it as the draw for retail, hotels, other tourism, etc. and since it will increace the tax base enormously, (...)   Re: Newswatch: Fifth Legoland Park in Kansas City area in 2009

My whole take on this is that it is NOT Lego driven, but developer driven. If it goes thru, then the taxpayers of Kansas will be paying for this. But if it fails in the end, it could affect the reputation of Lego... the product. I am leary about (...)   Re: Newswatch: Fifth Legoland Park in Kansas City area in 2009

Legoland KC is supposed to be presented to the Olathe City council tonight. It looks good except the current plan has tax payers paying 2/3 the cost. I don't think people will be real excited about putting up this amount. This has been discussed on (...)   Re: Newswatch: Fifth Legoland Park in Kansas City area in 2009

(...) Standing in line is not my idea of a fun vacation - especially with short attention span 4-12 year olds. If Legoland purposely cuts off attendance each day to insure small lines, charge a high gate fee, and can still make a profit, I think (...) (crossposting to .legoland) (...) To re-state what I posted on BL: I think these "tourism experts" need to find new jobs lol.
