sale” at Walmart, and not in any great quantity - as far as I can determine,
no store got more than a single pallet of tubs. They were priced at $15 CAD,
and disappeared fast.
Sometime last week (not certain exactly when), they became available to North
America via Shop at Home, both over the phone and online, for $9.99 USD.
Combined with the current free shipping offer, 7000+ elements for under $100
was irresistable to us AFOL’s, and once word spread, the stock evaporated.
Shortly after that, people calling by phone were told that they could
backorder a maximum of 4, although there was no limit indicated online.
Shortly after that, the product was unorderable online, and then was pulled
from the website entirely.

And as a further note to the saga, they showed up at Superstore (a Canadian-only
‘mega-grocery’ chain) in their toy section for $15.98 over the weekend.
