The original 6074 had some grey spare arches (URL) could be built in at the turret: (URL) the half arches in the picture above with the arches in the building instruction: (URL) spare arches are not included with (...) (22 years ago, 3-Oct-02, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.castle)

(...) As far as I recall, the original 6074 set had some spare parts including (as far as I know the only LEGO castle set that really had spare parts). (...) When I seen this earlier today, I had similar questions in mind. I THINK that both cases are probable. (then again, I never bought the set when it first came out, so I don't know the "official" piece count) If the piece count is indeed 435 on (...) (22 years ago, 3-Oct-02, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.castle)
