Where are they being shipped from?

In case they are shipped from Denmark to the EU, the VAT is around 25% (so
that should be our reference). Two things come to mind:

a) If they are being shipped *within* the USA (any plant there, producing
only for the american markets?), I dunno the taxes applied - if any. No
possible comparison.
b) If they are shipped *from Denmark to the US*, then we are being severely
ripped off.

Any chance Lego Direct (or anyone else from LEGO) can give us some light on
this topic? I had noticed discrepancies before, but this is outrageous. And
quite frankly, I cannot see the point in having such a large difference
unless we are supposed to buy via USA...
Well, are we? If so, why? Europe is a market big enough to be treated with
more consideration...
