Don't let your irrational fears hold you back. Define them and deal with them.
I work in a big business. The objective is to avoid biting the hand that
feeds, avoid killing the golden goose etc. I think you can trust TLC to
generally respect what you have going here, and to very occasionally
over-step the mark.

I would prefer something more at arm's length. Why don't you define the
kinds of advertising which you think would be exploitative, and attach a
price tag? Then when TLC tries to exploit LUGNET, send them an invoice!
And use a level playing field approach. When ANYONE advertises
innapropriately on LUGNET, send them an invoice!
This isn't the only fan site on the internet. How do webmasters of other
great fan sites handle the relationship with the source of the object of
admiration?
