I've just been reading the best part of this thread, and I must say I'm
amazed....
Amazed at the lack of respect for 'The Community' and for The Lego Company.
And amazed at the amount of patience from TLC.
I honestly do not see why representatives of TLC can not be allowed to post
throughout LUGNET. Yes, it makes sense because it keeps things clear. But
then admins should be banned from posting outside lugnet.admin....
The very fact that TLC posts here at all means the fan community is taken
seriously. I cannot think of any company having a relationship like this
with their customers. To assume that TLC would abuse this forum to sneak in
marketing messages I think is simply a huge lack of respect for their
intelligence.
Even if they would start using this channel for marketing I'm sure we'd all
be smart enough to notice and react.
Someone suggested there's more going on than we can read here. If that is
the case, if Suz has a personal problem with Jake, Brad or anyone else at
TLC, then this is the wrong place to try and sort it.
I think it would be in the interest of both TLC and the LUGNET community if
representatives of TLC can post outside of lugnet.lego.direct: the odd
announcement could be made in the appropriate group, and reactions could be
made in the actual thread, rather than with this cross-posting stuff that
nobody really seems to understand. I think the representatives of TLC are
professional enough to clearly sign their messages. If anyone tries to fake
TLC postings that's easy enough to verify through the email confirmation.
I hope the admins can keep their role as admin seperate from their personal
opinions. I also hope that TLC will not have been too offended by some
overheated reactions.
