Re: This is stupid... I can't tolerate this *juniorization*... —John Neal
(...) And they have-- in droves. Themes like Bionicle are attempts to win them back. Guess what? I have not the *slightest* interest in Bionicle, but I'm not going to rail on it. And why should I? It's not intended for me. (...) Hence Bionicle. (...) (23 years ago, 11-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: This is stupid... I can't tolerate this *juniorization*... —Allan Bedford
(...) O.K. I think we agree here. You're saying the kids are going elsewhere in droves. You're saying Bionicle doesn't interest you. Is there a chance then that it doesn't interest the kids as well? This is what I'm saying... that LEGO's product (...) (23 years ago, 11-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: This is stupid... I can't tolerate this *juniorization*... —Victor Knight
(...) Not true. I don't like Star Wars, and none of the sculptures are of any use to me. What can i do with a giant minifig or dragon or sopwith camel? Maybe if the dragon was menacing I could pass it off as some monument in a medieval town, or if (...) (23 years ago, 12-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: This is stupid... I can't tolerate this *juniorization*... —Larry Pieniazek
(...) The minifig isn't THAT useful but the other three you name are veritable treasure troves of parts. Sopwith Camel especially looks like someone who knows what sort of parts I like designed it to be a great parts source to fill in the gaps in my (...)         Re: This is stupid... I can't tolerate this *juniorization*... —Victor Knight
(...) I guess that's true but I thought we were talking about instances where the TLG model was good. If we're talking about as a set of parts, then yes. (23 years ago, 12-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: This is stupid... I can't tolerate this *juniorization*... —Larry Pieniazek
(...) OK. I'll defend the Camel as a good, even great, model, though. It isn't minifig scale but neither are other model team sets. It's a bit bigger scale than model team but it is along the same lines. I found it to be a very enjoyable build. (...) (23 years ago, 12-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: This is stupid... I can't tolerate this *juniorization*... —Jonathan Dallas
(...) Just my two cents. I bought the green dragon. I found the set to be challenging, and a well designed set. Granted it is a little too cute for me, but still a nice design. On top of that, once you take it apart you have tons (tonnes) of green (...) (23 years ago, 13-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: This is stupid... I can't tolerate this *juniorization*... —Larry Pieniazek
(...) Agreed. And I would argue that the sets that LD has brought out so far under their aegis are hitting this mark quite well. LD gets it. LD knows what we want and LD is delivering. I've said it before and I'll no doubt (to the annoyance of those (...) (23 years ago, 13-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.dear-lego)
