Yes. Fur felt is superior to wool felt (in which some cheap imitation hats
are made) because it won't shrink.

It's actually oil impregnated canvas, refered to as oilskin (hence the
leather confusion). The driza-bone coat was originally designed for riding,
and even had straps to hold it to the wearer's legs, although now several
designs are available.
To complete the Aussie bush look, you need a pair of RM Williams riding
boots (which are pretty much the best shoes in the world IMHO :-) ), and a
pair of moleskins (preferably also RM Williams brand.). Moleskins are like
jeans but with a heavier, tighter weave. They are typically bone in colour.
