Pieces Missing from 4094 Motor Movers sets

I bought several 4094 Motor Movers sets, since I have a use for the motors. Two
of the sets were each missing a piece. One was missing a red 1x2 thin technic
liftarm:

and the other a tan modified tile 1x2 Grill with bottom groove / lip:

I can understand one set occasionally missing one piece, but:
1. These are not the smallest or lightest pieces in the sets. A weight check of
the smallest bag should have detected the faults.
2. Two sets of the same batch of the same type suffered the problem.
3. The incidence of missing pieces is rising, such that I am less trusting of
set completeness than I used to be. Nevertheless, each occurrence still leaves
me feeling disappointed and wondering why I persevere with Lego. If I were a
7-year-old, would my non-AFOL parents buy me more Lego after this?
If the instructions had an inventory list, it would be a lot easier to describe
the parts when I phone up Consumer Services. Some sets do have one, but please
let this be implemented for all sets, complete with 7-digit order numbers next
to the parts. I don't expect the Consumer Services call centre staff to have
used Bricklink and to understand the above part descriptions!

| (...) [ ... snipped ... ] My son received the 10134 UCS Y Wing for Christmas and it too is missing parts. It is missing all of the 68mm redish-brown flex tubes and all of the dark grey flex tubes. It did have the shorter redish-brown flex tubes. (...) (19 years ago, 29-Dec-04, to lugnet.lego)
