Jake, is this okay with LEGO? If not, what can we do!?!?!

Thanks for the heads up. If you can pass me a store location (city, state, and area within city) I will pass it on to my colleagues in that area.

LOL, Jake, if you really want us to send you this kind of thing I think you would be inundated. I don’t think I’ve ever been in a Wal-Mart or Zellers here (BC, Canada) which *doesn’t* have the LEGO and MB all mixed up together. Not quite as bad as the picture shown though, I must admit.

I have to agree with this as well, in my area (Southern Ontario), the Megabloks as well as other clones (and other building toys) are equally dispersed through out the “building” isle, as well as other toy isles. Lots of times, the products are together by theme instead of brand, and other times there is no rhyme or reason to the display layout. It’s unfortunate for those of us that care about brand to any degree because you have to search the entire toy section to find all of the Lego sets that are for sale, which can be time consuming at best.

I have chatted to the toy managers (about this and other Lego questions) at a number of local retail stores, and truly to them it’s not a problem nor an issue. Their only concern is the stock is going out the front door.

Most of them can not even tell the difference between brands anyway, not because they aren’t clever enough to figure out the difference, but because they have no invested interest in the product. I have often been directed to a clone while asking for a specific Lego product. Unfortunately this means that many consumers that are not aware of the difference in brands end up buying a product that they had not intended to buy. I know this has happened to Non-AFOL friends of mine when buying for their children.
