In the standard color wheel, pastels are achieved by adding white to a pure color, and earthtones are achieved by adding black, so I’m guessing the really dark colors are all termed Earth Something. The really confusing part is that I think the old Kanohi list on BIONICLE.com listed “Earth Orange” as what we would normally term “Brown”, and “Dark Orange” as one of the two very similar shades that we’ve been calling “Earth Orange”.

   I don’t care so much if (for instance) y’all decide to ‘tweak’ Purple, just let us know that it’s going to happen.

(...) The LSC could address this, but the LSC members aren't necessarily experts on the color palette. And it's an issue bigger than LDraw.org. So maybe a cross-organization group is called for?
