Re: Which color 1x4 arches were included in the 500-piece bonus tubs?

(...) Hi Geoffrey, The arches from that box are the same pink as the ones from 5873. If you list them on BrickLink, list them under Pink. And if you got any of them list the new brighter pink 2 x 4 bricks under Bright Light Pink. For the different (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Which color 1x4 arches were included in the 500-piece bonus tubs?

I am in a quandary here, as I have two possible color choices for the 3659 pink arches that are in the 4679's 500-piece bonus tub. However, peeron lists two quite similar sets which have very similarly colored pink arches in them. Can anyone from (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Appreciating what TLG and Lego Direct have done for AFOL's

(...) Steve, I agree with you on the Technic argument. I personally haven't liked Town since the 1970's, but others don't see it that way. Around 1980 I started to build MOCs. Granted a lot of AFOL's prefer to build mostly what the company comes out (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego)

  Re: Universal Color List...finally

(...) That's fine, but the bricks I used were all from the period 1970-1980, as they were put away when I began my 20 year dark age in 1981, and I have since always kept them separate from my new bricks. I actually picked out the bricks that looked (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-04, to lugnet.color, lugnet.lego)

  Re: Universal Color List...finally

(...) [Snip - quality issues] (...) I can imagine, that a wild mix of used bricks from 196x till nineties have different clutch forces and similar tolerance spread as the plates now. But if you took only bricks of one colour and type out of one type (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-04, to lugnet.color, lugnet.lego)

  Re: Universal Color List...finally

(...) Hi Ben, while those stacks look bad, I don't see any stacks of older plates beside them to compare. I stacked my older bricks and found much variation, I would be interested to see your findings. A lot of people say LEGO tolerances have become (...)   Re: Appreciating what TLG and Lego Direct have done for AFOL's

Thank you for addressing this. I was similarly irritated while reading some of the responses to the universal color list. And was motivated to write a rude response to some of the negative comments, but I knew that would not solve anything. I feel (...) (22 years ago, 20-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego)

Re: Appreciating what TLG and Lego Direct have done for AFOL's

Hello there First off, AMEN! And offcourse, thank you for taking this up. I think that the problems are the people whining about lego are the general direction they've taken the last couple of years, and see where it goes. Off course TLC will have (...) (22 years ago, 20-Nov-04, to lugnet.lego)
