  Re: Timelines

(...) Hmmmmm, I am pretty sure that "Harry Potter" takes place in our times. They have cars and everything. Sounds like it could have been in the 1970's+ Maybe the books would release a date in one chapter.... I am pretty sure its in our time (...)   Re: A couple things . . .

(...) You mention that you aren't sure how the prices on the Sears website compares to the US MSRP; well I'd guess it's about typical for Sears... ~10%-20% above. The prices on the Sears website look about right to me. I'd expect the Bay to price (...) (23 years ago, 1-Sep-01, to lugnet.harrypotter)

  A couple things . . .

Hi - FBTB II has a scan from the latest JC Penney catalog that shows the box art for 4707 Hogwart's Castle - and the set guide has the piece counts now listed as well. Tim (URL) (23 years ago, 1-Sep-01, to lugnet.harrypotter)

Re: New pics of HP sets at Sears of Canada

(...) I'm so glad I'm not the only one who noticed that! Tanya (23 years ago, 31-Aug-01, to lugnet.harrypotter)

Re: New pics of HP sets at Sears of Canada

(...) Too bad the pictures are all labelled wrong. Hagrid's Hut is actually the Forbidden Corridor and vice versa. Same with the Snape's Class and Room With Winged Keys. At least the Express and Castle are labelled correctly. I liked the better (...) (23 years ago, 31-Aug-01, to lugnet.harrypotter)

Re: New pics of HP sets at Sears of Canada

(...) Thanks for the research guys....most of the harry potter sets do look worth getting... a nice mix of castle / town. If done right, you could have a very lovely looking gothic-style school house... Benjamin Medinets (23 years ago, 31-Aug-01, to lugnet.harrypotter)

New pics of HP sets at Sears of Canada

Based on a post I saw in one of the Canadian groups, I found that the sears of Canada website has some different pics [at least, I'd never them before] of the Harry Potter sets: (URL) down into Shop Online, then Toys, Lego, and the Harry Potter sets (...)   Re: Timelines

(...) Actually, just about everything (that is out of the norm of what we see in everyday life) falls into the "Fantasy" category. Now that I finally have some down time I've been catching up on two+ years worth of Realms of Fantasy magazine. The (...)   Re: Timelines

(...) Perhaps it’s a Town-Castle hybrid set in the present... The lands of Lego System are no longer as pure. The definitive System sections are being blurred by outsourcing to companies with their own directions. And this does not always fit into (...)   Timelines

Since I have been told that Rock Raiders are set in the future, I now have to ask the question: Is Harry Potter and his world- Town? Castle? Future (but not space- SW agreement)? Just because something is fictional, does that make it futuristic? (...) (23 years ago, 30-Aug-01, to lugnet.harrypotter, lugnet.space, lugnet.castle, lugnet.town)

Re: When do we see HarryPotter in the US?

(...) Cool, thanks for taking the time! This is the first I recall of seeing the US set names. Guess I'm not surprised the Meijer is on board for the whole line-- probably most large retailers will be, for at least the holiday season. (...) No 4703 (...)   Re: When do we see HarryPotter in the US?

(...) I think I've seen (one or two of) those Mattel sets recently as well. These were definately in the Lego isle, and today I was at the other Meijer in town and saw the same! I didn't have any paper with me to write things down, but fortunately (...) (23 years ago, 20-Aug-01, to lugnet.harrypotter)

Re: When do we see HarryPotter in the US?

(...) You were right, there are at least 11 sets. I went back to Meijer with pen and paper in hand and got the set numbers, prices and the names on the shelves. 4701 Lego Potter Sorting Hat $6.99 4702 Lego Potter The Final Challenge $9.99 4704 Lego (...)   Re: When do we see HarryPotter in the US?

(...) In lugnet.harrypotter, Ben Roller writes: (...) Were these in the Lego aisle? My Target (near SF, CA) already has the mini-playsets (with 1" figures) in stock, made by Mattel. There are about 4-6 items in the line. Lego's line is something (...) (23 years ago, 20-Aug-01, to lugnet.harrypotter)

Re: When do we see HarryPotter in the US?
