Wow!  They *are* watching!  Hey, LEGO folks out there!  Come out to our
Train Show tomorrow and Sunday in the Seattle Area!  See how we promote
LEGO among the train enthusiasts and their kids!

Seriously, my agenda (in addition to trying to get bulk bricks) would be
to get LEGO to notice what an incredible resource the fans can be on the
promotional side.  We sell LEGO trains.  Not directly, but even if only
one in ten of the people who get train information at shows go out and buy
a train in the next couple of months, we've sold hundreds.  As was
mentioned in a thread over the train group, we're becoming more noticable
in the hobby train field and eventually people attending the commercial
shows, like GATS, are going to expect LEGO Train sets to be sold alongside
Lionel and such.

I also have an agenda regarding getting more houses and libraries and
other buildings into LEGO sets, but that is for another note.

Oh yeah.
As for tomorrow's show, anyone in the Seattle area ought to come and check
it out.  Say you are from LUGNET and we might let you run the trains.
The show will be open 10am to 5pm on Saturday October 23 and Sunday
October 24 at Gracie Hansen Community Center, 27132 SE Ravensdale Way in
Ravensdale. The center is off of the extension of SR516 (Kent-Kangley Hwy)
2.3 miles east of the intersection of SR169 and SR516 in Maple Valley.

Detailed directions:

from Seattle/North:  east over I-90, south on 405, exit 405 in Renton,
take SR 169 (Maple Valley Hwy) south to MV, past McDonald's on right,
continue up hill to 3rd light, left (east) on SR516 (Kent-Kangley Rd) and
down 2.3 miles.  Right at Gracie Hanson sign and go .3 miles, the
Community Ctr is on right.

from South:  exit SR18 at MV exit, right at end of ramp and right at first
light (SR169 going south), left at 3rd light (SR516), and down 2.3 miles,
right at GH sign...

from Northeast/Issaquah:  from I-90, take the Front Street exit, down
Front which turns into Issq-Hobart Road and ultimately into 276th Ave SE.
At the intersection of 276 and Landsburg Road, take a left onto Landsburg
SE which will turn into Ravensdale Way when you cross Kent-Kangley Road.
Look for signs on right.  [Unfortunately, my Thomas Map Guide doen't show
exact detail for the building but this shall get you to within 1-2
blocks.]

Just some general comments: I. I know Larry P had something upwards of $10,000 -promised- payment for the bricks that (might have been/should have been...) ordered. If I was a company, and someone said, I have $10,000 worth of orders, IN MY HAND for (...) (25 years ago, 24-Oct-99, to lugnet.general)
