Are you talking about the piece that has a 2 or 3 finger hinge connector
at both ends but is a straight cylindrical part, (very common) or the
piece that connects to IT which only has one and is two rods with the
ends bent down.
if the latter, that is a pantgraph shoe. See this page:

In addition to 4551, not the greatest of sources since it will run you
over 50 a part if you gave the rest of the parts away, there also is a
copy in some ResQ set made last year although the exact one escapes
me... It's used as a light bar there. Either that or some other set of
recent vintage that is escaping me.
