I am pleased to announce the most recent update to the Expert Builder
website.
This addition is not a model, but rather the complete text and pictures of
Fred G. Martin's article, 'The Art of LEGO(R) Design'. Some long-time
Internet users will recognize this reference work as one that has been
available for download in Adobe(R) Acrobat PDF format for some time. The
appearance on Expert Builder marks one of the first times that this
material has been presented in HTML format, as part of a website.
This article provides a wealth of information to the novice LEGO(R) builder
and the advanced modeller alike. It discusses fundamental design
strategies that can be applied to a range of models built from LEGO(R)
bricks. Especially worth noting are the series of gear-related pictures
and a number of design cliches, which may save some builders the headache
of 'reinventing the wheel'.

| Allan, I enjoyed Fred's article and got some ideas from it but - how about saying somewhere that it's about Lego *Technic* design, since the whole thing is very Technic-specific? I was expecting tricks for building with System-type pieces. Kevin (25 years ago, 3-Sep-99, to lugnet.general)
