i like the way you implemented the orange stripes right into the model
itself (without the need for stickers).

That was one of my main goals, which wasn't so easy considering my
limited supply of orange (I had to use 1x4 plates vertically in the tail
for lack of 1x1 bricks)
  Although I usually apply stickers to TLG models when I buy them, most
stickers never get used again after I take the model apart.  I think the
only time that I made my own sticker was when I added a wall of controls
to the back of the Deep Freeze Defender (which was rather empty in the
back).
