Good question Lar!
Early on the "X" bottom Minitalia bricks were made out of the same composite
plastic that the Minitalia windows and doors were made of. Later on Minitalia
started using regular ABS LEGO bricks in their sets... which of course contained
ABS plastic.
It is this early composite plastic... similar to the plastic used in early white
large plates and LEGO Train era blue track sleepers... this plastic was more
suceptible to wear than regular ABS (or even CA). So the rounding on the
"early" Minitalia bricks was due to wear.
As for the Olo bricks... maybe the rounding was due to the brick molds.
Cheers,
Gary
