So Gary...

Whilst at Valu Village, I picked up a red LEGO case.  Turns out that it's set
356

Then I looked on LUGNET and there's no such set.

What gives??

It's set 356, with 'bonus storage case', and it says it has 310 pcs.  I think I
remember seeing them in Canada a long time ago.  It's basically full of basic
bricks.  Is this something missed?  One of those samsonite Canada only things?

Hope that helps

Hi Dave!
Thanks for posting this!

Have I ever seen this set.... nope!

Am I surprised you found it... nope!  ;)

NOTHING that TLG or Samsonite or British LEGO (Courtauld's Corp.) has done over
the last 64 years has surprised me.... confounded me... yes... surprised me...
no.

Dave, you do me a favor... can you take the colorful cardboard cover, put it
back on the side of the red case, and take a picture (on its' side) of the case
with the cover on it?  I will forward a copy of the image to the folks at the
LEGO Archives, and ask them about it.  And if you let me... use it in the next
DVD download (free to current owners)... the chapter on sets with plastic cases.

Oh, and by the way... that set likely dates to 1987... reason I know is that
that it has the same box top image as a 347 Basic set of 1987, but with its' own
case... likely a Canada exclusive!  :D

Only the parts count aren't exact... yours has 310 pieces, and the 347 has 328
pieces... but they build the same models.

Thanks for posting your find!
